Mohammed Abdul Baten
District Microfinance Officer
Mohammed Abdul Baten has a post-graduate degree in Political Science from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He began his role as the District Microfinance Officer with the CLP in January 2012. Having worked in a number of national and international organisations, Baten has 14 years of experience in the microfinance sector (both community-based and institutional). Baten has extensive knowledge of the village savings and loans approach, rural finance, community banking, social capital formation, community development, micro enterprise, as well as women empowerment and rural development. His main area of interest is extreme poverty reduction through social development, social capital formation, health and nutrition intervention, microfinance, research and innovations.
