Rabeya Yasmin has about 20 years’ extensive experience in policy, strategy and implementation of development programmes, she made significant contribution in developing poverty reduction programmes in Bangladesh and countries across the globe. She served in BRAC for 19 years , was the Director of a flagship programme called CFPR-TUP in BRAC and played key role in the overall development of the programme. Under her leadership CFPR-TUP programme evolved as one of the most cost effective, efficient replicable model for extreme poverty reduction that has served 1.4 million poorest household in rural Bangladesh since 2002. Between 2005 and 2015 she has done a few short term consultancy assignments on and off for CGAP, DFID and WFP. Ms. Yasmin served on the board of several national entities – Executive Board Member of the country’s largest coalition for urban poor CUP; Governing Board Member of Bangladesh silk Foundation, a semi government entity; Chair of the Economic Development Cluster of Bangladesh Urban Forum- a Government led platform; Member Project Advisory team of IIRD a national NGO. She obtained M.S.S. from social science faculty from University of Dhaka, and a MA in Poverty and Development from IDS , Sussex , UK.
